DESCRIPTION:Kent House Leisure Gardens Open Day\nOpen to Public\n\nThe Beekeepers will have a marquee with honey sales\, candle rolling\, an observation hive and lots of information about bees and beekeeping including our ‘virtual hive’. The apiary is also open for people to look around and a ‘clean up’ of dirty equipment will be going on under supervision.\nIt would be good if as many members as possible are involved in this event.\n\n\n\nHelp will be needed to:\nPut up marquees etc on the Saturday (time to be decided with those who volunteer for this).\nSetting up from about 9.30 am on the Sunday.\nStaffing the honey sales\, candle rolling\, observation hive and being available to answer questions or discuss bees with the public (11-3).\nClearing up after 3pm including taking down marquees etc.\n\nIf you can help with any of the above please tell Bob or Mary\, saying when you are available and what you can do. Both of us will be at the meeting on Sunday\, May 5th 11.30-1pm or you can phone or email us. DESCRIPTION:Bromley beekeepers are hosting a lecture by Gerry Stuart about the Asian Hornet. \nGerry Stuart is Vice-Chairman of Torbay Beekeepers. He has been in the forefront of the setting up of Asian Hornet Action Teams. During the 2018 season Jersey beekeepers had to deal with 52 nests. Gerry has been well involved with Jersey beekeepers over the past couple of seasons so his knowledge certainly isn’t theoretical.
