Lottie Simpson has been making her presence felt even since introducing herself to Bromley Beekeepers in autumn 2025. That process went a stage further at the apiary meeting on Sunday 3rd May 2026, when she fully installed herself, or, to be more exact, she installed a piece of her artwork in pride of place, centrally in the Peter Springall apiary.

This however is by no means a decorative piece alone, but serves as a bait skep. If it doesn’t manage to attract a passing swarm then, who knows, Apiary manager, Mick Cohen, may be tempted to install a colony of his own. The future of the movable frame hive may be severely at risk.
